West African Regional Policy Brief

CD2030 conducted a nutrition equity analyses of 15 ECOWAS countries with West African Health Organization and African Population and Health Research Center to understand the coverage and equity of cost-effective nutrition interventions as well as nutritional status among children, adolescents and women of reproductive age. Results showed that malnutrition among adolescent girls and adult women is still rife and more accelerated efforts are required to close the inequality gap. Governments must renew their commitments and development partners should develop broader programs and interventions for adolescent girls and women. This policy brief was presented at the 16th ECOWAS Nutrition Forum on November 18th, 2019 in Liberia.
